Underarm or a Forearm Crutches?

I am not familiar with crutches anyway, but i saw this so often especially from people who are just recovering from an accident or any leg problem that the doctor advised for one. Tell me more about a forearm crutches and an underarm crutches. Anyone, to share its advantage and disadvantages?

Underarm crutches can also be called auxiliary crutches because they are intended to be placed under your arm. An example for an underarm crutch is this one –

Normally, an underarm crutch is recommended for people with temporary injuries while a forearm crutch can sometimes be thought as a walking cane with a cuff that fits slightly below your elbow and a handle. You can see one here

While the former is recommended for temporary use, a forearm crutch is ideal for people who are advised for longer supports period. There are advantages and disadvantages of choosing any of the two, but it is always the convenience of the user that ends the argument.
